Unquestionably, Destiny 2’s best features are its farming god rolls and weapons. The Nightfall Strike playlist contains some of the most powerful weapons available in the game. However, it’s not as simple as it sounds to pick up a Nightfall weapon.
This guide will cover the weapons that Nightfall strikes drops, how to farm them and when they can be expected to appear in your rotation.
What Weapons are available in Nightfall Strikes?
Destiny 1 was filled with strike-specific loot. Guardians have long asked for it to return in Destiny 2. Bungie has released the first batch of weapons for Season of the Chosen (Season 13), and will add more with each subsequent season. Below is a list of Nightfall weapons currently available in-game.
- Hung Jury: Kinetic Precision Framework (180rpm). Scout Rifle
- Palindrome – Void Adaptive Framework (140rpm), Hand Cannon
- Shadow price: Arc Precision frame (450rpm), Auto Rifle
- Uzume RR4: Solar Adaptive Frame (90rpm) Sniper Rifle
- The Comedian – Void Aggressive Frame (80rpm). Shotgun
- Plug One.1 Arc Precision Frame (740ms), Fusion Rifle
- Hothead – Arc Adaptive Framework (20rpm) Rocket Launcher
- The Swarm – Arc High Impact Frame (360rpm), Machine Gun
The Best Way to Farm Nightfall Armors
Nightfall Weapons are only available from Nightfall strikes, so it is easy to find out how to get them. These weapons drop with random rolls, so it’s not a one-and done situation. To get the rolls you desire, you will need to run the activity several times.
Before players start grinding, it is important to know the drop rate for an item. Bungie does not give exact drop rates for Nightfall weapons. However, they can provide approximate values.
Nightfall Weapons at a Discount
- Adept: 1250 Light – Rare drop rate
- Hero: 1290 Light – Uncommon drop rate
- Legend: 1320 Light – Common drop rate
- Master: 1350 Light – Common drop rate
- Grandmaster : 1370 Light – Common+ drop rate
You will have a greater chance of getting the Nightfall weapon to drop if your strike difficulty is higher.
Legend Nightfall Strikes is the fastest way to farm Nightfall weapons. Although you might think it would be more efficient to run Grandmasters or Masters, the increase in difficulty means that strikes take longer due to how much health each item has. You also have a higher chance of wiping because of this difficulty.
It’s a numbers game when you farm a particular activity. You’ll get more loot the more you do an activity.
The goal is to find that sweet spot between higher drop rates and higher difficulty levels, while still being able to complete the strike as quickly as possible. If you can do 3-4 runs at Legend in the same time, it is a waste.
To get an additional piece of Legendary gear when you finish a Strike, make sure to equip the Vanguard Prosperity Mod on your Ghost. Although it’s not guaranteed, it can make a huge difference in the long-term and you’ll need all the help you can get.
Nightfall Weapon Rotation Schedule
Nightfall weapons used to be on a 1/1/1/3 rotating system before Season 15. However, that has changed with the addition of 8 weapons to the loot bank. This makes it a 2/2/2/2 split, so each week we have a chance at two weapons.
