Follow these steps to get the Chime app.
- Select Transfers under Move Money
- Enter your login credentials for the other bank when prompted.
- Instantly, your external bank account will become linked to your Chime spending account.
- Bank of America, Citibank, Chase, Citibank, Citi, PNC and Regions Bank, TD Banks, U.S. Banks, USAA, Wells Fargo and many other banks are included in the list. You can search for your bank in the app to determine if it is supported when you are ready to link an additional bank account.
- You can link an external account and transfer unlimited amounts from it to the account’s value. You can use the transferred amount within five working days.
If the Chime app fails to transfer funds to your Chime Spending Account from an external linked account, log in to your external account and proceed to transfer funds. You will need your account number (or route number) to do this. These numbers can be found in Settings.

How to Register for Mobile Check Deposit
Chime uses records from all Chime-branded accounts that you have, your history of direct deposits, your direct deposit size and other risk factors to determine whether you are eligible for mobile checks. Chime offers Mobile Deposit to members who have made at least one direct deposit of $1 from any of the following sources since June 1, 2021*:
- Employer/Payroll provider
- Payer for gig economy via automatic clearing house (ACH), transfer, or original credit transaction (OCT).
- Government benefits
After you have received your payroll direct deposit, mobile check deposit will automatically be enabled in your Chime App within thirty days. Other risk factors may also allow you to access the feature.
You can still access Mobile Check Deposit if you had it before June 1, 2021 even if there hasn’t been a qualifying direct deposit.
